We’ll be hearing from Office Events Director, Alasdair Adam, in the first instalment of our ‘Behind the Scenes’ series. Alasdair will introduce the themed party concept and reveal just how much work goes into planning, organising, managing and executing a themed corporate Christmas party.
‘Here at Office Christmas, we have always prided ourselves on the extremely high standard of themed parties we plan, organise and create for a wide range of clients. When a client comes to us with an idea for a company Christmas party that goes one step further, we can ensure that this vision becomes a reality.
Whilst we have found that high-quality themed corporate parties have always been popular with our clients, 2011 has seen a marked increase in demand for these events. An astounding 70% of all events booked through Office Christmas in 2011 are themed parties, showing that more companies are looking for ways to set their corporate event apart from their competitors’ and reward their employees for another year’s hard work.
Along with the dedicated team at Office Christmas, the talented event organisers and managers within our bespoke theming arm Theme Works strive to bring our clients’ vision of their ideal Christmas party to life. Theme Works work their magic nationally to create bespoke theming solutions for large events. Corporate Christmas parties are totally transformed with the use of themed props and venue decor, professional lighting installations, special FX and themed entertainment.
There are two main stages to the process of creating a themed Christmas party that achieves the extremely high standards we set for ourselves and our clients. Before the event, there is a lengthy period of planning and organisation. This includes venue sourcing, site visits, sourcing entertainment and planning concepts for lighting, props and decor.
On the day of the big event itself, it’s all hands on deck – myself included. I’m out there with everyone else driving lorries, unloading vans and setting up our extensive production. The best part for me is seeing people’s faces when they walk in and see the results; it makes the hard work worth it and most certainly gives me great job satisfaction. I am very proud to be a director of a good number of creative and talented people who genuinely care about delivering superb events for our customers; it certainly makes my life easier.’
